January
Monday 1st --New Year’s Day Meet, Royal Oak Much Marcle. A large gathering of vintage and Classic Car enthusiasts. Eddie is kindly hosting a lunch meet for members at ‘The Full Pitcher’ pub in Ledbury after the meet. Always a popular start to the New Year, contact Eddie on 01432-356841 to reserve your place.

Monday 2nd (Easter Monday) Coleford Festival of Transport. 9.30 -4.30. The whole town is more or less given over to a display of classic cars. Some 500 cars in attendance. Autojumble, food and entertainment.
Sunday 8th A7CA Meeting. AGM. This takes place at The Green Man Pub, 14, Daventry Rd, Dunchurch. CV22 6NS. If you would like to represent HA7C for what is always a most interesting meeting covering all things A7, please let Michael Ward know.
Saturday 14th-Sunday 15th The Great Shires Game Fair. Malvern showground. All sorts of Classic cars, commercials, tractors, stationary engines, motorcycles etc. Free entry. I have entry forms, but also contact 01392-421500.
Sunday 22nd. Drive-it Day. HA7C are meeting up with SWA7C for this year’s Drive-it Day. Meet at the Hills Restaurant in the Bishops Meadow Caravan Park at 11.30 am for brunch, followed by a run up across the lovely Epynt down into Builth. Follow on down to Erwood station for refreshments, finishing with a drive back up to the ice cream parlour in Builth.

Saturday/ Sunday 5th/6th Border Counties Vintage Club Annual Show at Vauxhall Fields, Monmouth. Steam and Country Show with vintage and classic cars. 10.00am to 5.30 pm. Contact 07966-117936 for details and to enter your car.
Monday 7th – Bank Holiday. ”The Bluebell Run”, kindly hosted by Barbara and Ray Moses. Meet at the Green Man, Fownhope, 9.30-10, followed by a 1 hour scenic drive to Ledbury for a light lunch, then a short run to Bosbury House for a display of classic cars, and a chance to enjoy the Bluebell woods. Contact Barbara or Michael H to come along. Pre booking and lunch menu choice is essential.
Saturday 19th-Sunday 20th Spring Autojumble at Beaulieu.
Sunday 27th - Monday 28th Eastnor Vintage Family Day. Eastnor Castle. Entries are invited. All sorts for the steam enthusiast Steam engines. Live jazz, steam engine rides and pony rides are all to be enjoyed. Visit eastnorcastle.com/visit-eastnor-castle
Tuesday 29th Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm.
Wednesday 30th -6.30 pm-An evening of bowling at Leominster. Kindly organised by Pat Caine, we are booked in for a fun evening of bowling at the Leominster Bowling Alley, situated in the Grove, which is part of the Golf Club complex. £9-99 pp for the “Steak and Bowl night”. Situated on the A49 on the by-pass just North of the Cadbury’s factory.
June
Sunday 3rd June-- 1.30 pm. A visit to Aunt Martha's Tea Rooms, Cinderford, in the Forest. Kindly hosted by Jason and Hazel Moses we will meet at Pengethley Manor at 1.30 pm, have a drive, and arrive at Aunt Martha's at 2.30 to 3.00. For those who haven't been before Aunt Martha's is a quaint little establishment where the waiting staff all wear Victorian costumes. If sufficient numbers are interested there will then be the option of a further run to a pub to meet for dinner/drink to finish the day. Saturday 9th—Madley Miglia- A day out driving around the Gospel Pass with lunch at Castlefields.
Sunday 10th TOTIE (The only Tour is Essex) departs. David and Linda, Michael and June, and Gill and myself are going, along with 50 others from A7 Clubs across the country. Entries are now closed.
Friday 15th TOTIE tour entrants return.
Saturday/Sunday 16th/17th. 10.00 am to 6.00 pm each day. Kenilworth Castle, Warks. English Heritage ‘Best of British’ Event. A large collection of British Classic cars are attending and HA7C members are invited with their cars. Saturday 25th – Monday 27th –Pershore Plum Festival. The whole town comes alive for this festival. HA7C do not have any Club attendance at this event. However it is full of classic cars of all types, and well worth a visit.

Sunday 21st –Wye Valley Wander—This event will be a joint hosting by Kip and Michael H this year. Probably the last run out of the year, a chance to get out in the Autumn sunshine for a run around the lanes of our county.

Tuesday 30th - Monthly Meet, Richmond Club, 7.30 pm. “Ladies Night”. Following the success of the jewellery workshop amongst the ladies of the club last year, Karen has very kindly agreed to do another ladies evening for us. She hasn’t quite decided what she is going to do yet, but when she does, I will let you know in an update. But put this in your diaries as ‘One for the Ladies’.

January
Sunday 1st—New Year’s Day. Classic Car meet at the Royal Oak, Much Marcle, 10.30am. followed by a lunch at 1.00 pm at the Full Pitcher, Ledbury, hosted by Eddie.
Monday 2nd-- New Year’s Bank Holiday.
Saturday 14th—A winter excursion to the Golden Valley. Kindly hosted by Kip and Carmen. Meet at the Poston Mill, Vowchurch for lunch, followed by an invitation to The Old House for coffee.
Tuesday 31st -- AGM and Monthly meeting, Richmond Club, 7.30pm. The agenda is: minutes of the last meeting to be read, reports to members from the various departments, the annual election of committee members, and a general meeting.

Wednesday 8th-- Church Stretton. The Church Stretton Old Farts club have managed to engage Norman Dewis of Jaguar fame - he was involved with the Le Mans cars etc etc. He is 96 and is very well known in old car rounds. He is giving a talk at Cardington Village Hall which is near Church Stretton. There will be a short introduction on Swallow Sidecars and a film of the 1953 and 54 Le Mans race. Then, after coffee, Norman will talk to us about his experiences at Jaguar. Finish about 1300hrs and there are lots of local pubs to have lunch.

Wednesday 15th---A trip to the Swindon Railway Museum, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EY, meeting at 10.30, followed by a Chinese meal at HongXin ‘eat as much as you like’ Restaurant in Pepperbox Hill, Peatmoor, Swindon SN5 5EZ. Weekday Lunch: £7-50 (drinks extra). I have eaten here very many times in the past, and can, generally, recommend it.
Kindly organised by Kip, he has requested you tell him if you are intending to come. Make your own way there. No need to come in the 7, this is a job for your modern.

(Personally I find Swindon extremely confusing with dozens of roundabouts seemingly competing to win a look-alike contest. So if you are unfamiliar, it might be best to bring your satnavs using the details provided. MH)
Thursday 16th-- A presentation at Pembridge Village Hall on Thurs. 16th. Feb. at 7.30p.m. It is titled’ Herbert Austin and the Longbridge Story’. Entry will be £5 including refreshments. More information in due course.

Wednesday 8th— 12.00 Noon. The Gloucestershire branch of the Morgan Sports Car Club would like to invite HA7C Members to this talk by Ian Patton on his pan USA trip on an old Indian Motorcycle. Ian Patton completed a time trial in 2012, New York to San Francisco for pre-1929 motorcycles. The route was around 4,000 miles. His illustrated talk captures the spirit and atmosphere of the adventure.
£25 per person, this includes a 3-course lunch, coffee and a donation to speakers’ nominated charity.

Sunday 2nd --Bromyard Speed Festival -- (from their website) “Bromyard Speed Festival is a street motoring event to be held in the centre of Bromyard. It is a celebration of the rich motoring history in and around Bromyard. Around 100 to 120 historic, vintage and public interest vehicles relevant to Bromyard, will take part in a street parade through the town centre, from the Town Square on Broad Street, returning via Rowberry Street. Each class of 10-12 vehicles will drive around the circuit for a period of 15–20 minutes with a leading pace car used to determine safe circuit speeds. Commentary will come from a Public Address system on the street. When not on parade the vehicles will be held in paddocks in the town’s two main car parks where they can be open to public view. Trade stands and other attractions will complete the offering and provide a fun day out for the serious motoring fan as well as the casual enthusiast.”

A venue kindly suggested by Michael Ward, this Drive-it Day will be a visit to Hop Pocket Craft Centre and Shopping Village, Bishops Frome, approximately half way between Hereford and Worcester, and South of Bromyard. Meet at the Pilgrims Hotel at 10.30 for a short run through Hereford City Centre to the Village. Lunch there, followed by some retail therapy in the opportunities provided, and then depart for home. (I shall publish the lunch menu in a separate note nearer the time).

Monday 1st -- Early May Bank Holiday.
Tuesday 9th —1st Shed Night. 7.30 pm at Riddings Farm. A chance to learn more about your Seven. Kindly hosted by Frank and Sue Sibly and features a talk kindly given by Eddie Loader on an aspect of A7 maintenance or repair. This talk is on the subject of brakes, with hopefully a live demonstration on an actual car.
Wednesday 24th---- A Visit to the Big Pit, Blaenavon, near Abergavenny. 10.30 am.
Meet at Waitrose in Abergavenny at 10.30 for a cup of coffee, and then drive the short distance to the Big Pit. A working Coal Mine from 1880 to 1980, it is now a museum. The visit will take approximately 4 hours, and will include an underground tour lasting approximately 1 hour. Lunch is available in the original Miner’s canteen. (I shall publish the menu in a separate note nearer the time). There is also a coffee shop and Museum. As a Group, we get the following benefits:

Saturday 3rd --Madley Miglia will offer a non-competitive navigation rally involving the three valleys; Grey, Olchon and Wye.

Tuesday 27th --Monthly meet, Richmond Club, 7.30pm ‘Bring your Car’ night for the group photo. We have been approached by a local artist, Chris White, who is looking for commissions to paint our cars. He will be in attendance.

Saturday 22nd -- Sunday 23rd--Much Marcle Steam Rally, Much Marcle.
Saturday 22nd--The Annual St Christopher Blessing of cars and other transport at St Mary's Church, Craswall, arrive 11am for 11.30 start. This is a beautiful little church set in the Black Mountains, and we ask you to bring your own picnic. Any queries, please contact Kip by e mail, or otherwise phone is 01981 550293 till 3 May, after which the number is 0033 231 40 95 27.
Co-ordinates for the church are 52 deg 01' 13.41"N and 3 deg 02' 55.11" W.
Sunday 23rd--Ouistreham Day Rally near Caen (attended by members in 2015) which this year will be on July 23rd. A7 members will be welcome, and can book their attendance via Kip. Depending on when people want to come over, he can organise a two or three day rally - again would those interested please let him know.
Tuesday 25th—Monthly meet, Richmond Club, 7-30pm. It is hoped to engage an expert to give us a talk on Austin 7’s. More when we know what form this might take.

Sunday 12th—A day out on the railway. Friends of Prescott have teamed up with GWSR and are offering car clubs, including HA7C, a day out. The day starts at 10.00 a.m. when you can have Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and afternoon tea as well as enjoy the great locomotives that GWSR has to offer. Includes a trip past Prescott and on down to Cheltenham racecourse, and a tour of the locomotive sheds.
Each Club attending will have its own dedicated parking area in the adjacent field (with all-weather road) with easy entry into the Station. There will also be a number of trade stands for your delectation!
They have asked me to co-ordinate the HA7C entry, so if you wish to come along, please let me know good and early.

Saturday 25th June--Motor Show Hereford. 9.15am to 4.30 pm. The Sunshine Horsepower Motor Show is held in the centre of Hereford in Maylord Street where there will be a display of classic cars. They have a face painter and other attractions. A goody bag of food is provided for each exhibitor which is brought round at about 12.45.

Sunday 24th --Forest of Dean Historic Vehicle Club-- 12 Noon. To celebrate the 200th Anniversary (to the day) of the opening of the Old Wye Bridge in Chepstow. To celebrate this event Cars, tractors, m/c's, light commercials, and horse and carts are invited to turn up at 12 noon, with a re-enactment of the walk from Beaufort square, Chepstow to the Old Bridge for it's official opening in 1816. There will be a medieval Fair, bandstand and grand reception in the Drill Hall.
Cars to assemble on the Gloucestershire side of the riverbank, from Tutshill down to the river and after the official opening, will cross the bridge, loop around the town and then display on the lawns in front of Chepstow Castle. No need to pre book, just make a note to turn up on the day.

St Christopher is the patron Saint of Travellers. You are invited to bring your transport, ancient or modern, motorised or not, to the beautiful Black Mountain church of St Mary's for a short blessing service followed by a "bring your own" picnic in the grounds of the church (where pre-war cars will be parked) and adjoining field (for post-war). For the Parish, this is an entirely new venture, which we are sure you will enjoy and which we hope to continue and expand in the years to come. Sunday 24th --Forest of Dean Historic Vehicle Club-- 12 Noon. To celebrate the 200th Anniversary (to the day) of the opening of the Old Wye Bridge in Chepstow. To celebrate this event Cars, tractors, m/c's, light commercials, and horse and carts are invited to turn up at 12 noon, with a re-enactment of the walk from Beaufort square, Chepstow to the Old Bridge for it's official opening in 1816. There will be a medieval Fair, bandstand and grand reception in the Drill Hall.
Cars to assemble on the Gloucestershire side of the riverbank, from Tutshill down to the river and after the official opening, will cross the bridge, loop around the town and then display on the lawns in front of Chepstow Castle. No need to pre book, just make a note to turn up on the day.
Saturday 23rd --St Christopher Blessing Service and Picnic. 11.30 am at St Mary's Church, Craswall.
St Christopher is the patron Saint of Travellers. You are invited to bring your transport, ancient or modern, motorised or not, to the beautiful Black Mountain church of St Mary's for a short blessing service followed by a "bring your own" picnic in the grounds of the church (where pre-war cars will be parked) and adjoining field (for post-war). For the Parish, this is an entirely new venture, which we are sure you will enjoy and which we hope to continue and expand in the years to come. An expression of interest to Reverend Nicholas Lowton at lowton.nicholas@virgin.net would be appreciated (to give an idea of numbers). You will then continue to be updated.
Tuesday 26th—Monthly Meet, Royal Oak, Much Marcle-- 3.30 for 4.00pm. Members’ Driving Tests. Kindly organised by Bob Garrett, this will take place in the Royal Oak, Much Marcle. We are promised an afternoon of great fun, with something for the ladies, so be sure you come along. Optional dinner afterwards.

Saturday 13th August -- The Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge will be hosting a large Car Show on the Hospice grounds and would love to invite HA7C club members to come along with some cars to showcase. Sunday 14th—Three Cocks Show and Rally, Hay-on-Wye. HA7C usually go as a Club. If you are coming, please let me know, and I will book you in. We are being offered a Club enclosure for our exclusive use, provided we let them know numbers in good time, so early bookings please.
Sunday 21st--Tewkesbury Classic Vehicle Festival-- 11.00 am to 4.00 pm at Tewkesbury School, Aschurch Road, Tewkesbury, Glos, GL20 8DF (200 yds from M5 J9). Entrance £5-00, under 12 free, but Free Entry for Show cars and their

Saturday, Sunday, Monday 27th-29th--Pershore Plum Festival. A weekend of events in Pershore finishing with a Classic Car display on the Bank Holiday Monday.
Sunday 28th-- Summer Serendipity at the Royal Oak, Much Marcle. Pre-War cars only. Similar to New Year’s Day gathering but rain is warmer.
Tuesday 30th—Monthly Meet, Richmond Club, 7.30 pm. Noggin and Natter.
Wednesday 31st--A trip on “Balmoral”—The Vintage Steamer “Balmoral” is one of the very few working paddle steamers left, and conducts 50’s style excursions in the Bristol Channel in the summer. Depart points Penarth, and visits are Ilfracombe and Lundy Island. The itinerary is depart Penarth 0930. If you would like to come, please let me know, and I will make the booking with the operating company on the Club’s behalf. MH

Saturday 10th--Eaton Bishop summer fete. No entry fee. Held in a large private garden. Vintage cars, Austins and others, military vehicles, fete type games, barbecue, teas, beer, covered seating area, raffle, tombola, white elephant stall, 2nd hand book stall and various craft stalls.

Saturday 21st-- "Autumn Amble" hosted by Bob Garrett. A leisurely drive through Herefordshire's delightful countryside. Meet at the New Inn, Kilpeck, 10.30 am for a drive to a lunch venue.

Friday 11th—Mulled Wine and Mince Pies. Eversley House. 7.30 for 8.00 pm. An evening very kindly hosted by Stuart and Lyn Howard at their home. Featuring great fun, great company, mulled wine, nibbles, and HA7C’s famous mince pies for your delectation. There will be a raffle, so please bring something along for the raffle, and help it go with a swing. This event has been cancelled.
Sunday 27th—Annual Christmas Lunch at the Bunch of Carrots, Hampton Bishop, Hereford. 12.30 for 1.00 pm.
Tuesday 29th—Monthly Meet, Richmond Club, 7.30 pm. An evening of skittles in the skittle alley.
