Events Diary 2019

Please note – Items listed on Bold Type are events organised by HA7C.  Items in standard type are events organised by others, but may be of interest to HA7C members.
This is not a complete list of events, and will be added to throughout the year as fresh events are notified to me. For that reason, the dates of events may be subject to change.
 
January
Tuesday 1st --New Year’s Day Meet, Royal Oak, Much Marcle. A large gathering of vintage and Classic Car enthusiasts. Eddie is kindly hosting a lunch meet for members at ‘The Full Pitcher’ pub in Ledbury at 1300 after the meet. Always a popular start to the New Year, contact Eddie on 01432-356841 to reserve your place.

Monday 7th-- Committee meeting. Pilgrims Hotel, Much Birch at 12.30 pm. Committee members only need attend.

Sunday 27th—Malvern Autojumble.
Three Counties Showground. 10.00am to 2.00pm. See enclosed flyer

Tuesday 29th --Richmond Club 7.30 pm.  Monthly meet, Minutes of the Committee meeting, AGM, Election of Committee Members and N&N.

February
Friday 22nd-Sunday 24th—Race Retro weekend at Stoneleigh
. A large historic motorsport show with hundreds of historic rally and racing cars on display. Auctions and Classic Car sales. Driving and karting.  Quote:  RR19DM to get up to 20% off entry price of £22. Website: raceretro.com

Saturday 23rd   HA7C 10th Anniversary Dinner. The Green Dragon Hotel, Hereford.

Tuesday 26th--- Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm

March
Saturday 23rd –“Austin 7’s back to the track”.  An Austin 7 track day at  Curborough Sprint Course, Fradley, Lichfield, Staffs
   Reduced entry fee of £50 if you enter by the 31st January, £65 thereafter. Fee is per car, regardless of the number of drivers.

Tuesday 26th-  ---Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm.

April
Sunday 7th—Bromyard Festival of Speed.
Several parades of some seriously interesting cars around the closed-off streets of Bromyard. Free general entry. £3 for admission to the paddock. There is also the option of a static display area for HA7C members.

Wednesday 17th -- Bowling at Leominster. This is proving incredibly popular with many members coming along for a good laugh. Kindly hosted by Pat Caine, 6.30 for 7pm start. £9.99 for supper and bowling.

Sunday 14th ---Hereford Waterworks Museum,
Broomy Hill, Hereford, steam open day. Website: www.waterworksmuseum.org.uk

Saturday 20th, Sunday 21s, Monday 22nd ----Easter Model & Collectors Show, Bromsgrove, Worcs.B60 4AL Contact; Paul Eden at Shakespeare’s Rally Promotions. Website: www.shakespearesrally.com.  A Club application form is available.

Sunday 21st.  ……Easter Sunday

Monday 22nd—Easter Monday—Coleford Carnival of Transport,
Coleford, Gloucs.  A town centre static display of all types of classic vehicles from pre to post war, including trucks, buses and m/c’s. Turn up with your car and stay all day.

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th –“Wartime weekend” at the GWSR, Toddington.  HA7C have attended this a couple of times as a club event, but not recently.  A great day out dressed in wartime apparel. (See Drive-it Day below).

Sunday 28th---Drive it Day. The proposal is to visit the GWSR above and participate in the “Wartime weekend” as HA7C’s activities on Drive-it Day. This involves dressing up in suitable period clothing, and going in the Austins. Michael H is in contact with the organisers to arrange the details. If you would like to come along please let Michael H know.

Tuesday 30th --- Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm.

May
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th –Monmouth--Border Counties Vintage Club. Annual rally at Vauxhall Fields, Monmouth. Steam traction engines and classic cars.

Monday 6th—Toy and Train Fair Abergavenny. A static display of many vintage cars in the main street.

Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th.—Ludlow. Combined with a food and drink festival. Takes place inside the castle walls. You will need to book early as it is very popular. For more info contact Pat Caine. Website: ludlowspringfestival.co.uk

Saturday 18th, Sunday 19th --Spring Autojumble at Beaulieu.

Monday 27th May bank Holiday--Bailey Park, Abergavenny. A 2-day Rotary organised event for all vehicles including steam engines. Lots of stalls including food stalls.

Tuesday 28th- --   Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm. Photoshoot night.

June
Sunday 2nd—“The Cream Tea Run”. Kindly hosted by Hazel and Jason, this is a successor to last year’s run which was enjoyed by many members. Details tba. To enter your name, please contact Hazel or Jason.

July
Monday 1st—Mold Trip returns

Sunday 7th. Beaulieu Austin 7 weekend.
The 750 m/c’s annual national Austin 7 Rally at Beaulieu.

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st --Much Marcle Steam Rally. A very large event with steam engines, stationary engines, classic cars and lorries of all types.

Friday 26th, Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th --Welland Steam Rally. Similar to Much Marcle but much bigger. A 3 day show with a fantastic display of steam vehicles of all types. The Friday is devoted to Auctions.

Tuesday 30th --Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm.
 
Saturday 27th--1st August-- Monmouth festival week and carnival. (Precise 2019 dates tba).
For one week in the year Monmouth hosts a festival largely of music and dance, with various bands performing in the different pubs each night and a central stage in the car park. To kick the event off there is usually a carnival parading through the packed streets with many local classic cars joining in.

August
Saturday 3rd—Brecon County Show.
A large county show with lots of vintage machinery of all types.

Monday 5th-Herefordshire Country Fair –Our own county fair. Lots of classic cars, but usually few from HA7C. Held this year at Caradoc near Ross-on-Wye. Visit website to download an entry form: herefordshirecountryfair.co.uk

Saturday 10th, Sunday 11th--Tortworth Vintage Rally, Wickwar, Gloucsestershire, GL12 8LF. Contact; Paul Eden at Shakespeare’s Rally Promotions. Website: www.shakespearesrally.com. A Club application form is available.

Sunday 11th --Three Cocks Steam rally--Three Cocks near Hay-on-Wye. A large steam rally on the beautiful Welsh Border.  Always a popular event for HA7C.

Monday 19th-Sunday 25th   Llandindrod Wells--Victorian week celebrations. This year is the bicentenary of the birth of Queen Victoria Very many events throughout the week. On the final day, collect in the car park and travel into town on a vintage bus.

Wednesday 21st-Monday 26th --VSCC 85th Anniversary celebrations at Brands Hatch. 5 days of exciting vintage motorsport.

Saturday 24th –Monday 26th –Pershore Plum Festival. Pershore, Worcs. A weekend festival throughout the town. Many classic cars of all makes attend. Website: www.pershoreplumfestival.org.uk

Saturday 24th--- Gloucester Retro.  A display of all types of classic cars from the 1900’s to the 1990’s.

Sunday 25th— Open day at Webb’s of Wychbold. Visit the gardens and enjoy a cup of tea. Website: www.webbsdirect.co.uk

Tuesday 27th - --Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm

September

Saturday 14th –Kington Country Fair—

October
Sunday 13th --Malvern Classic Show

Sunday 20th --Wye Valley Wander---Probably the last Club meet of the year when we go out in our cars. A trip around the lanes of Herefordshire especially beautiful in the colours of autumn.

November
Sunday 24th -- HA7C Christmas Lunch at the Bunch of Carrots

Tuesday 26th   --Monthly Meet, Richmond Club 7.30 pm. Mulled wine and Mince Pies evening
